Documentation for older Python-based VMDs

  • I’ve recently hired on with a company presently using older versions of Iguana with channels configured using Python-based VMDs. While there are plans to start moving in the immediate future to newer versions and LUA-based configs, I need to be able to support and deploy under our current model. I’m looking for docs that will explain to me more about how Iguana is handling writes into the database. Basically, I’m reverse-engineering our standard VMD, and need to know how it’s moving data into the database.

Thorough documentation how vmd files work, can be found in Chameleon’s and pre-version 5 Iguana’s online Manual at http://www.interfaceware.com/manual

Perfect, Lev! Thank you so much.

This article might be of assistance:

    http://wiki.interfaceware.com/1436.html

It describes away to use existing vmds with python and classical mapping logic.
