Killing off Visual Basic 6.0

  • I think we’re safe at this point in retiring support for VB 6.0. VB 6.0 has long been unsupported by Microsoft and think most Microsoft shops have long moved on to .NET.

Thought I would mention it in the forums and see if there are any long forgotten systems out there that use Chameleon with VB 6.0.

I for one will be happy to retire support for this creaky platform. It was a tough querky platform to support…

For most customers VB 6.0 support at this stage contributes by adding to size of the Chameleon/Iguana install and occasionally creating errors in the installer 😉 It’s time to put it out to pasture…

Looks like nobody mourns thee oh VB 6….

A brief moment of silence is suggested, but not required.

    Or hip hip hooray! 🙂

It’s nice to delete a bunch of complex code with the knowledge I shall never have to explain it to anyone!
