Raising a VIP alert

An important part of an interface engine is it’s capability to alert administrators when events occur that need attention. Often requirements in this area are simple.

However Iguana combined with the Translator can be used to implement any kind of alert you can think of. We will show you how we can set up an alert for when a VIP patient is admitted.

These are the required steps:

  1. Create a user login with an email address
  2. Set up the email notification server configuration
  3. Create a standard email notification rule which will send an alert when the word ALERT appears in the logs
  4. Use some Lua code in our channel to print out a message with ALERT in it when we see a message with a VIP flag
